What is Rhinoplasty?
Nose surgery is quickly becoming one of the most popular cosmetic operations in the United States. Most surgeons recommend deferring the treatment until the patient is 13 or 14 years old, when the nose should be completely formed. The surgeon will make incisions within the nose for a less dramatic reshaping. The skin is then taken from the nose's bone and cartilage, and the bone and cartilage may be removed, altered, or increased as desired.
The surgery may take one to two hours, during which the surgeon may make incisions around your nose based on the changes you want to make. Typically, the nasal skin is removed and wrapped over the new nasal framework. A nasal splint is usually used to assist stabilize the nose.
